With my old receiver I had enabled ARC and so I looked for this setting on my new receiver and I turned it on. I thought about what I had changed recently in my system and it occurred to me that I had semi-recently installed a new receiver. "Headset Plugged into Wrong Video Card" I was quite confounded as to why this started to show up all of a sudden after it had never shown up previously and I also only have one video card on my desktop PC. This mostly seemed to be related to laptops and it had to do with having your HMD and monitor not being displayed through the same video card.Īfter about 2 hours of banging my head on things, rebooting the PC, changing settings in SteamVR, rebooting the HMD and trying everything I could all of a sudden a new message popped up stating: I did some googling and I saw that people were doing things such as messing with their NVIDIA settings for the SteamVR related executables. SteamVR reported: Fix for Compositor is not available (400). You can also contact Steam via the Steam support page if further potential resolutions for error 306 are required.I was having a problem where the compositor would not start no matter what I did. Those are some of the more probable fixes for resolving SteamVR error 306 that are worth a shot.
